Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? or Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? Matthew 27:46 / Mark 15:34
I thirst. John 19:28
It is finished. John 19:30
Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit. Luke 23:46
Please reflect on The Seven Last Words of Christ composed by Theodore Dubois in 1867:
Grieving God,
on the cross your Son embraced death
even as he had embraced life:
faithfully and with good courage.
Grant that we who have been born out of his wounded side may hold fast to our faith
in him exalted
and may find mercy in all times of need. Amen.
